Emmys! Robberies?! Bieber?!

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been concerned with the lack of pop culture content. Sure a Beyoncé concert can only get you so far, but I wanted to make sure you were abreast with the latest goings on in the pop culture sphere.

I’ve been collecting little bits and pieces here and there to make sure that you’re properly fed, but it seems the Lord has been answering my prayers and WE ARE BACK.

No, I mean, there are three big headlining stories for this week and I am #GRATEFUL.

Justin Bieber has a new album, Beyoncé got robbed and oh yeah, the Emmys dropped its nominations.

Okay, enough lollygagging, let’s discuss!!!!

White Lotus & Severance dominate Emmys

Earlier this morning, the Emmys dropped the 2025 nominations, and to no surprise the Apple TV fan fave, Severance got 27 nods from Best Drama to Best Actor in a Drama Series.

White Lotus, The Last of Us, and Nobody Wants this all got nominations and I for one am THRILLED!

For White Lotus, it dominated the best supporting actress in a drama series with Parker Posey, Aimee Lou Wood, Natasha Rothwell and Carrie Coon all getting named. In the actor category, Walton Goggins, Sam Rockwell and Jason Isaacs all got nods too.

Also can we talk about Nobody Wants This getting noms for both Adam Brody and Kristen Bell as best actor/actress in a comedy series PLUS best comedy. Is it Christmas already? I’ve heard that it was Kristen’s first Emmy nom so colour me surprised.

Another show you may not have heard of, The Pitt, got A LOT of noms (you can watch it on HBO Max). From what I’ve heard, it’s a very good show.

So, Apparently is now So, Crimestoppers. Here at So, App HQ we do not take robberies lightly!

If you didn’t hear, news emerged that Beyoncé’s choreographer’s car was broken into with the thieves taking harddrives featuring unreleased songs, set lists for past and present shows, and show plans.

From what we’ve uncovered in our PCCIU (Pop Culture Crimes Investigation Unit), the robbery took place in Atlanta days prior to her Cowboy Carter performances. The car was parked at the Krog Street Market (whatever that is). At around 8pm, the miscreants broke into a rented Jeep via the rear windscreen with two suitcases stolen.

I’ve heard news that the perps have been identified but news outlets haven’t reported on it.

Good week to be a Belieber!!!

It’s not clocking to me that Justin would drop a surprise album this week. I’m happy JB is back, it’s been FOUR years since Justice and the world has been missing new music from the Biebz.

His new album called, SWAG, is rnb pop and I’m actually enjoying it. There are a few goodies on here, nothing pop heavy, it’s more laid back, and relaxed.

The interludes are skippable, except for the one where he famously quotes my new motto: You’re not getting it. It’s not clocking to you that I’m standing on business, is it?

Happy first birthday to the queen herself, Moo Deng

Thai pygmy princess Moo Deng is one year old and can you believe it? I for one, cannot. In the TikTok below you can see she’s all grown up!! While she may be a year older, she still acts as sassy as ever, WE LOVE!
